Beach Area Passes are now required for USE of the beach...and these may be obtained from
the Camp office by sending an email to the Camp Elk Shoals (by clicking here ( * )
Please include your name, phone number, actual address and mailing address (if different).

These Beach Passes are for only one vehicle, and are good thru the end of the year.

These are the rules:
* The beach access area at Camp Elk Shoals is part of the private property of Camp Elk
Shoals.  The management of the Camp allows Beach Pass holders access to the
beach area (which is the property located between the low water bridge and the "green
gate") from 8am to dusk.

At certain times, private groups may reserve/rent the beach, and at that time the Camp
will limit public access, and signs will be posted with such notices.

The Camp follows the "safe sanctuary policy," and the local and county law
enforcement officers patrol the premises....nighttime and daytime.

There is no lifeguard is on duty, and swimmers are swimming at their own risk.

Dogs are permitted "ON LEASH", and dog owners are expected to clean up
after their dogs.

Drugs, Alcohol and Firearms or OPEN fires on the beach are not permitted.

Wildlife Department officers periodically patrol the area, and fishermen will
be expected to have a valid fishing license.  It is expected that the persons fishing
will not do this around those swimming, and all lines/hooks/sinkers and boxes of
worms will be removed from the beach.

Garbage is always a concern…and there are three barrels provided for
those using the beach.  (These are NOT receptacles for household garbage).

It is becoming increasingly difficult and expensive to provide an area of rest and
relaxation along the beautiful New River, and we ask that those who enjoy the
beach at Elk Shoals accept the responsibility of helping maintain the beach.

Enjoy the beach, and remember to "display" your BEACH PASS in your vehicle
while you are on the beach
