If you are looking for something craft-oriented, then you are only about 4 miles from the Northwest Trading Post (which is located at marker 286.8 on the Blue Ridge Parkway.....also in Glendale Springs). This store offers a wide variety of crafts for sale (all made and supplied by local citizens).
If eating at a variety of great restaurants, and/or browsing through antique and "country" stores interests you, then downtown West Jefferson (which is only 5 miles from the Camp) is THE place to visit and enjoy!
If you would like to fish, or go canoeing, kyaking, or tubing, then the New River is to where you want to be!
